Dominican Nuns cover the whole world with prayer

Happy feast of All Saints of the Order of Preachers! Today we remember the holy Dominicans of the past, stretching from the 1200’s all the way to the present day, and covering the whole world with their preaching and prayer for the salvation of souls.

The new website for the Nuns of the Order of Preachers (made by a nun from the Dominican monastery in Summit, NJ!) shows how the Dominican nuns today continue to cover the whole world with their prayers.

Each of us experiences Dominican monastic life in our own particular monasteries, each with its own wealth of tradition springing from a particular source in the history of our Order. How inspiring to see the rich diversity of Dominican life as the nuns in various cultures and countries live out this vocation of prayer and penance at the heart of the Holy Preaching. The “Monasteries by Regions” page gives a very good sense of how the Dominican nuns truly live all over world and carry all peoples to God in their prayers.

At this time in history the world especially feels the need for prayer. We ask you also to keep us and all nuns in your prayers, for health and protection from COVID, for vocations, and for continued growth in holiness. That way we can continue to fulfill our vocation of prayer for you and the whole world. (You may want to use the Novena for Pro Orantibus Day which starts on November 12.)
