Vocation Retreats

Are you attracted by what you see here? Would you like to “come and see”? Coming to visit the monastery, meet the nuns, and experience a little bit of our Dominican monastic vocation is the best way to learn more and see if this life may be God’s plan for you.

Individual Discernment Visits

The normal way to make a vocation retreat at our monastery is to contact us, share a bit about yourself and your discernment, and ask if it would be possible to visit. Discernment visitors stay in our guest area outside the cloister, join in our liturgical prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and Rosary, learn about our life through reading and conversation with the Vocation Directress and other nuns, and have time for silent prayer and reflection.

Informal Vocation Weekends

Upcoming Dates (the first young woman interested helps set the dates):

  • Currently non scheduled

For young women age 18-26, these weekends are cross between a personal visit and a larger Vocation Retreat. Up to three young women stay in our guest area outside the cloister and get a taste of our life by joining in our liturgical prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and Rosary, along with reading and conversation with the Vocation Directress and other nuns, and time for silent prayer and reflection.

Group Vocation Retreat – currently none scheduled for Summer 2024

Occasionally we offer group Vocation Retreats for young women age 16-26. Retreatants stay in our guesthouse, and are introduced to our Dominican contemplative life through participating in liturgical prayer, silence, Eucharistic Adoration and Rosary, conferences by the nuns and by a Dominican friar, plus social time and a chance to speak individually with the Vocation Directress.

As we do not have a Vocation Retreat scheduled for Summer 2024, we encourage you to consider an individual discernment visit!
